Sober Night Out at NYTS Tea Studio – Ktown

Looking for a fun, welcoming night out in NYC that doesn’t revolve around alcohol? Join us for Sober Night Out, a lively weekly gathering at the tea lounge of New York Tea Society, hosted at the NYTS Tea Studio in Koreatown.

Every Friday evening from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, guests come together to connect, unwind, and explore the art of Gongfu Cha—the traditional Chinese method of brewing tea with skill, mindfulness, and curiosity.

What to Expect

Whether you arrive solo or with friends, you’ll find a welcoming place to settle in.

Join the Community Table
At our shared table, the NYTS founder and tea sommelier will host a casual, fun, and educational Gongfu tea tasting. You’ll explore multiple teas, learn how they’re brewed, and discover the aromas, flavors, and stories behind them. It’s an interactive experience designed to be relaxed, social, and approachable for everyone.

Or Brew with Your Own Group
Prefer a more intimate experience? Gather at one of our comfortable lounge tables and brew your own teas using traditional teaware such as a gaiwan or clay teapot. It’s a great way to slow down, experiment with brewing, and share the ritual of tea together.

About the Tea

New York Tea Society focuses on authentic Chinese Gongfu tea, featuring true teas made from the Camellia sinensis plant—including oolong, black, white, and other traditional varieties. Some teas naturally contain less caffeine than others, but please note that herbal or decaffeinated teas are not offered.

After tea, the evening doesn’t have to end. If attendees are interested, we often continue the night together—heading out as a group for dinner, karaoke, or other late-night fun around Koreatown.

Come for the tea, stay for the conversation, and discover a refreshing way to spend your Friday night in the heart of Manhattan.
