Wynn Mountain, Lyndeborough, NH
Details
Greetings hikers,
This is a few miles west of Milford, more than an hour drive for most Rockingham county people. It's not far from Purgatory Falls. I picked this because my brother Ken hikes it a lot & says it's one of the nicer, slightly moderate hikes in the area. On a clear day there's a good view of Boston & the Monadnock region. Ken will lead the hike.
We'll meet at the Lyndeborough community center, also called the town hall, at 1131 Center road. It might not look like it's open. It's a very small town. You can car pool with me from the Raymond area. I have room for 3. There's room at the trailhead for 4 cars so car pooling's essential. We'll coordinate the final car pool at the community center at 10:45. Or some may want to park at the Milford Boys & Girls Club at 56 Mont Vernon Street to car pool from there. It's close to the Pumpkin Festival so very convenient if you attend that event after the hike.
Wynn mntn is privately owned. The owner graciously allows hiking on his property.
There's the usual rocks, roots, ruts with uneven footing along the trail. We go up & back on the same trail. If the weather is decent, I'll go to the Milford Pumpkin Festival after. If we do that, it will be a long day.
Bring water, a snack, an extra layer of clothes & any allergy meds you may need. Be prepared for rain.
