Odd Ones Out: PHX Night Owls

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: We give a hoot about community! Our favorite owls are the ones who stick around and make lasting friendships.

THE EVENT: The Phoenix Art Museum offers pay-what-you-wish admission on Wednesday nights. Find us at the far right end of the steps that lead up to the front entrance. We'll start there at 6:30 PM with introductions then head in to stroll around the museum. The group is likely to spread out and wander somewhat separately, so we'll regroup outside the front entrance again at 8:00 PM when the museum closes. From there we'll go to a bar/restaurant nearby, location TBD (probably The Theodore or Wilderness on Roosevelt, walking as a group but you can also drive to meet us there). We will usually post where we end up in the event comments, so feel free to join us for just the latter portion if you'd like.

A NOTE ABOUT PARKING: It can be difficult at the museum on busy nights, so a few other free options this time of night are parking at the Methodist church just north of the museum or at the Burton Barr library. The library is a great choice if you'll be walking with us for drinks/food after on Roosevelt, because it's about halfway between, and there will always be someone to walk back here with at the end of the night. Otherwise, paid parking is available near Roosevelt for that portion of the evening.

THE EVENT: Meet near the east entrance of the library building, where there is plenty of free parking. After a quick round of introductions, we'll walk around downtown or the surrounding area for about an hour, at a leisurely pace allowing for conversation. Around 8pm we'll head to a bar on Roosevelt like Wilderness or The Theodore, where there are always NA options. Let a host know at any point if you are heading home and we will always find someone to walk you back to the library if desired.

A NOTE ABOUT DOGS: We love dogs! Dogs are welcome if they are friendly and trained for an hour-long walk. We are happy to go to a dog-friendly bar/restaurant if dogs are with us. For transparency, please leave a comment below if you plan to bring your dog. We require this comment as a Doggie RSVP now 🐕‍🦺

Welcome to Podd Club!
This club within our Meetup group is like a book club, but instead of reading books, we listen to podcasts before our discussion salons, which are small and intimate events.

The Podd Club listening selection could be one long podcast episode, a limited series, or episodes from different podcasts on the same true crime or paranormal ("odd") topic. In any case, total listening time is comparable to or less than reading most novels.

Because the venue is a member's private residence, the actual address will be sent to only the final list of attendees. Please make sure your profile photo is a clear one of your face without any obstructions (NO masks or sunglasses for obvious reasons).

The location is in Midtown, near Central and Osbourne, so easily reachable by light rail and/or bus. This event is BYOB. Bring a snack to share if you like.

Very Important:
Please remove your RSVP if you have not finished listening to the selection at least three days before so that someone on the waiting list will have enough time to prepare to attend.

To help prevent no-shows, RSVPs may be closed until three weeks before the event date.

First Wednesdays, come join us for trivia night in Old Town Scottsdale at the LDV Wine Tasting Room. The trivia night features a variety of themes with a music, name that tune round.

LDV is a wine tasting room featuring Arizona wines from their small family owned vineyard in southeastern Arizona. They also have non-alcoholic drinks available and snacks like charcuterie boards, hummus, etc.
