Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West

One of our members is a docent at this museum and she will be giving us a guided tour. The entry fee will be discounted to $25 per person. We are likely to go out for an early dinner / drinks in Old Town after the museum.

"Join us for a guided 50-minute tour of 'best of the museum' at Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West, a Smithsonian-affiliated institution. We will see original paintings depicting the early plains Indians and their effect on the Lewis and Clark expedition, the evolution of western painting during the 19th century, an overview of how high-end collectors are influencing native-made jewelry, a look at western movie posters from the ‘60s and ‘70s, highlights of western-themed bronze sculpture, and early mining and ranching artifacts."
