🌎 Have you ever longed for a better world—and wondered what you could actually do to help build one?

Maybe you’ve wished people felt less alone. Maybe you’ve wanted stronger communities, healthier relationships, better education, more meaningful work, wiser technology, more care for the planet, more beauty, more justice, more freedom—or simply more places where human beings can be honest with one another and figure life out together.

Maybe there’s some part of you that has always wanted to contribute. Now is your chance to share your magic. Come do something real and help move your world in a better direction.

☀️ That’s What This Work Party is For

Nine Steps to Home is an experiment in turning those kinds of hopes into something practical: gatherings, friendships, education, books, workshops, community projects, tools, media, technology, leadership, service, and eventually a wider network of people helping one another build healthier lives and healthier communities.

There is an enormous amount still waiting to be created. And some of it might have your name on it.

🌱 What Could You Contribute?

Whatever you already know how to do, or whatever you're excited to learn.

Maybe you love writing, editing, teaching, researching, drawing, designing, photographing, making music, filming, cooking, coding, organizing, planning events, building websites, working with numbers, talking to people, solving problems, making introductions, fundraising, fixing things, or dreaming up strange new possibilities.

Maybe your great gift is a spreadsheet.
Maybe it’s holding a camera.
Maybe it’s understanding people.
Maybe it’s knowing how businesses work.
Maybe it’s carrying boxes, proofreading a flyer, checking broken links, greeting somebody at the door, or noticing the one obvious problem everyone else somehow walked past.
All of it matters.

🌿 What We’re Building Together

At different Work Parties, we might be:

• Improving our gatherings and helping the community grow
• Writing, researching, editing, and developing the Nine Steps curriculum
• Creating books, videos, podcasts, music, art, flyers, newsletters, and social media
• Building websites, technology, databases, tools, and better systems
• Dreaming up workshops, classes, retreats, service projects, and new community programs
• Finding partners, venues, teachers, advisors, donors, sponsors, and other people who can help us
• Figuring out how this work can become financially strong enough to last and support the people doing it
• Tackling all the little practical jobs that transform a beautiful idea into something that actually exists

Nobody needs to understand the whole project. Nobody needs to arrive with a résumé full of impressive titles. You can simply walk in, meet some interesting fellow humans, hear what we’re working on, and find something that truly feels like yours.

🌻 Who It’s For

This gathering is for the hidden builders.
The people who have ideas scribbled in notebooks.
The people who notice what could be better.
The people who have learned useful things and secretly wish those skills meant something beyond earning a paycheck.
The artists, teachers, nerds, healers, organizers, entrepreneurs, makers, musicians, professionals, wanderers, retired experts, curious beginners, practical helpers, and quiet visionaries who would like to leave some corner of the world a little better than they found it.

You don’t have to already be deeply involved with Nine Steps to Home. You just have to care and show up.

🌙 A Community Effort

These Work Parties are volunteer gatherings: a chance to freely contribute time and skills toward something you want to see exist in the world. You choose what you take on. You can help for an afternoon, return whenever you want, learn alongside other people, or eventually take deeper ownership of something you genuinely care about. The dream is to build a community where many people discover what they can give.

🕯️ Hosted by Devid Sword

Devid is the creator of Nine Steps to Home. He wants to turn this sprawling dream into something people can actually walk into, participate in, improve, and eventually carry forward themselves.

He’ll bring the current projects, questions, half-built ideas, stubborn problems, and things that simply need another pair of hands—and help people find somewhere meaningful to jump in.

✨ Ready to Build Something?

Bring a laptop and charger if you have them, a notebook if you like, and whatever strange collection of skills, experiences, interests, opinions, and half-forgotten dreams life has given you. We’ll gather around a table, talk about what we wish existed, look at what is already beginning here, and then make a little piece of it real.

Maybe you’ve spent years wondering:
“What can one person really do?”

This is one answer.
Come help us build a new kind of community. 🏡🌎💙
