Gorgeous Park with the Black River as Its Centerpiece

By popular demand, we’re returning to Hacklebarney State Park for a hike during peak foliage season, with the added bonus of the Cider Mill being open!

Hacklebarney State Park, one of New Jersey’s smallest yet most picturesque parks, offers a 2.8-mile loop hike following the white, yellow, and red trails in a counter clockwise direction. The route features stunning cascading waterfalls and an elevation gain of just 375 feet. Hiking enthusiasts can opt to add an extra mile. Be prepared for some rocky and muddy sections; proper footwear is advised. Portable toilets are available in the parking lot near the ranger building.

Following the hike, we'll visit the Hacklebarney Cider Mill, Farm, and Bakery for cider donuts, cider hot dogs, and various treats. Patt will also have a selection of her baking specialties available. Friendly dogs on leashes are welcome at both the park and the Cider Mill.
