👟 Fellowship Walk: Middlesex Greenway (Metuchen)

A breath of fresh air and a fresh start to the weekend.
Join us for a mid-winter morning of fresh air, light exercise, and easygoing company as we walk the Middlesex Greenway. This is a low-stress, low-pressure way to get outdoors and meet new people from the NJ Christian Singles community.

Since it's the first Saturday in Lent, it’s a great time to hit the "reset" button, step away from the screens, and enjoy a simple walk with friendly folks.

🗓️ WHEN
Saturday, February 21, 2026

• Meet Up: 11:00 AM
• Start Walking: 11:15 AM
• Duration: We'll keep the walk to about 1 hour—just enough to enjoy the outdoors before we all get too chilly.

📍 WHERE
Metuchen Trailhead (Middlesex Greenway) The trailhead is located near Middlesex Ave. Click here for Google Maps Location

• Parking: Parking is available right at the trailhead. If the trailhead lot is still snow-covered or overly muddy, additional parking can be found at the nearby Whole Foods parking lot.
• Public Transit: For those taking the train, the trailhead is a short 0.5-mile walk from the Metuchen NJ Transit Train Station.

🚶THE WALK
Middlesex Greenway is a fully paved, almost completely flat trail—perfect for easy conversation.

• The Plan: We will walk out for about 30 minutes and then head back, covering roughly 2–3 miles depending on the group's pace.
• Pace: Very relaxed! This isn't a power walk; it's a social walk.
• Terrain: Paved, accessible, and almost flat.

🍔 AFTER-WALK LUNCH
For those who want to warm up and keep the conversation going, we’ll head over to the Metuchen Diner (338 Lake Ave) for lunch, coffee, or a quick snack after we finish our loop.

🚶 WHAT TO BRING

• Dress Warmly: February in NJ can be unpredictable and chilly! Please check the forecast and layer up.
• Essentials: A warm hat and gloves are highly recommended.
• Footwear: Please wear warm, comfortable footwear (sneakers or walking shoes are fine) suitable for walking an hour on a paved path.

Notes: As a newer member based in Central NJ, I’m organizing this to connect with others in this area! We are creating an easygoing space where you can just show up as you are, enjoy the outdoors, and get to know others in the group. Whether you’re a regular at Meetup events or this is your first time ever attending a group, you’re welcome here.

Weather Policy: We’ll walk as long as the weather is safe. Check this page for updates if there is heavy snow or rain in the forecast.
