Somewhere in your house there is a pair of tube socks that has been waiting six years for this. Glo-Skate is a one-night takeover of United Skates of America in Jackson, Ocean County, on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 PM to Midnight. The rink is ours after hours, the entire decade is on the speakers, and the lights go down so everything glows. The $29 covers your skates, pizza + soft drinks, and your glow sticks, so the only thing you need to bring is whatever the 90s looked like on you. JNCOs, a Starter jacket, frosted tips, puka shells, something you bought at Structure and have never fully recovered from. If you were born well after all of that, wear your TikTok interpretation of it. Nobody is checking.
If you haven't skated since a birthday party in 1998, congratulations, that makes you one of the more experienced people on the floor. Hold the wall for a lap, then let go. Come alone, plenty of people will be, and by the third song you'll be part of a very unsteady conga line.
