Even though our group focuses on nature, landscape and wildlife, I believe that many of the topics I'll be covering can be very helpful to nature photographers as well.

In this online lecture, I will cover these and other topics:

• Overview of camera settings for portraiture, including Aperture vs. Shutter Priority, and Auto ISO.

• What to say to your family members or professional models to help them relax or for fun expressions;

• Simple and more complex background (a.k.a. backdrop) options and what to use in different situations;

• How to use natural and artificial lighting to make people look their best; and

• How to make the most of inexpensive reflectors for controlling light both inside and outdoors.

BIO: Andrew Darlow is a New Jersey-based photographer, author, and digital workflow coach. For over twenty years he has helped people capture, edit and print their photographs and other artwork. More recently, he has focused on helping people preserve, protect and backup their irreplaceable photos, videos and other digital files.

Andrew’s photography, tips and reviews have appeared in many publications and media outlets, including: People Magazine, Animal Planet, Reader’s Digest and Professional Photographer Magazine. He is the author of four award-winning books, including his newest book: Focus and Filter: Professional Techniques for Mastering Digital Photography and Capturing the Perfect Shot.
