XC Ride at Blue Mountain (NY)

Not to be confused with Cortland, NY.

Blue Mountain Reservation is a Westchester County park. Hilly, rocky woodland.

Sloping technical terrain. Rock gardens and logovers aplenty. However, the singletrack here is well improved by the Westchester Mountain Bike Association (WMBA). Highly rated as one of the best MTB trail systems in the northeast; on par with Allamuchy and Ringwood. Also has plenty of off-trail features for roll-offs and jumps from huge boulders. You'll have the option to try several of those.

Adults only. Advanced riders only. A 3+ hour ride on mostly singletrack (includes breaks); at least 12 trail miles (roundtrip), depending on the group.

Mountain bike, helmet, tools, and spare tube required. Remember to bring water, snacks, tick repellent. Please, no broadcasting of music, nor riding with pets.

Car pooling arrangements can be made via posting to this page, or by contacting individual members via Meetup's messaging system.

Rocks/roots need to be dry. Rain can cause cancellation or rescheduling, so check this web page for updates before leaving home. If you know you're running late, then post at this web page before the meetup time, as there is cellular internet at the parking lot, to check for latecomers.
