XC Ride at Trexler

The singletrack MTB trails at Trexler Nature Preserve first went into service around 2011. Switchbacked slopes have fast, long radius turns and hairpins too. No rock gardens. In places its trails resemble a downhill MTB park. Small to medium size whoops, and some corners banked up to 8' high. A few of the especially thrilling trails we'll ride at least twice.

A modern, XC MTB works just fine here, including hardtails.

Adults only. Intermediate level. No-drop; with breaks for recovery and regrouping, but riders should be prepared for some high intensity segments.

Mountain bike and helmet required. Remember to also bring: water, snacks, tick repellent, spare tube. Please, no broadcasting of music, nor pets on the ride.

Parking area has no facilities.

Car pooling arrangements can be made via posting to this page, or by contacting individual members via Meetup's messaging system.

Rain forecast can cause cancellation or rescheduling. Too few RSVPs may also cause cancellation. So check for updates before leaving home.

If you know you're running late, then post at this web page before the meetup time, as there is cellular internet at the parking area.
