Join NJveg for a volunteer work day. We'll be helping the vegan non-profit Marley Meadows Animal Sanctuary. They’ll provide a vegan BBQ afterward! We highly recommend bringing a water bottle, bug spray, sunblock, work gloves, work boots, and clothes that can get dirty. If you’d like to donate, you can do so at the sanctuary or online.

Children accompanied by parent welcome. Please sign up only if you are serious about attending and plan to attend for the full time. If anything comes up and you need to cancel, let us know ASAP, so that we may fill your spot. We’ve had a problem with last minute cancellations – don’t be that person!

The 125th in NJveg's hiking/walking + vegan dining series will be our annual hike at Whitesbog. We'll meet in the main parking lot near the General Store (GPS coordinates 39.959255, -74.509671). We can snack on blueberries along the trail! Inclement weather date Sunday July 12.

A couple of our members have offered to host a post-hike vegan BBQ/potluck about 22 minutes away in Southampton! Please bring a food contribution in a cooler with ice so it doesn’t bake in your car during the hike!

The 12Xth in NJveg's hiking/walking + vegan dining series will be a joint event with the Veg Friends of South Jersey Heylo group. We'll start with an easy ~4-5 mile hike/walk on the southern half of the Elephant Swamp Trail, out-and-back. This is an old rail trail - flat, wide, graveled, and mostly in the shade. Meet at Elmer Rotary Field, 33 Chestnut St (Rt 40), Elmer, NJ 08318 (GPS coordinates 39.596312, -75.168639).

We'll have lunch afterward at Papa Luigi Elmer (just a block away), which has an extensive vegan selection of pizza, strombolis, sandwiches, and appetizers, including plenty of gluten free options! Inclement weather date TBD. Please review NJveg's restaurant trip guidelines, and note that only vegan food may be ordered at our table.
