Let us celebrate America's birthday in a grand style and have a Costume competition. Gryphon is gracious as usual and give us gift cards, which can be used for a bite/booze. We will award the three best costumes. They have to be Patriotic, Sexy and Creative.

The Gryphon is half a block from Dupont Circle Metro Station. Please take the 'Dupont South' exit. Check it on http://www.wmata.com/ and plan accordingly.
Street parking might be difficult. However, if you plan to drive, there is a PMI Parking Garage (1725 Desales St. NW, Washington DC 20036), $ 20 for 12 hours. It is a 24 hour and 7 days garage.

Danceintime runs Cuban Salsa Classes & Social Dancing Every Saturday, all year-long. Come at 1:15 pm to sign in. Stay till 4 pm.

A Poetry Workshop
Hey Poetry Lovers!
This group is on a roll. Here’s the gist:
We meet at the **Capital One Café in Chinatown** from **12pm - 2pm** every other week.
For enrichment, we start by reading and reflecting on a **“published poem”**, suggested by someone in the group. No advance preparation is necessary. Next, we **share our work and offer feedback**. Depending on attendance, everyone gets \~10 minutes to use as they like. (No need to share, though; you’re welcome to come even if you prefer just to listen.)
We maintain a **Discord server** to help share our work and communicate outside our bi-weekly meet-ups. If you haven’t used Discord before, take a moment to download it and create an account before arriving. When we meet you on Saturday, we will add you to our server, the “DC Poetry Workshop”, and can help you navigate the app if you have questions.
Finally, if you plan on sharing a poem, consider how you will do so. Some options include:
* Print 5-10 copies to distribute in person
* Take and share screenshots in the Discord chat.
* Copy the poem into a google doc, change sharing settings to “anyone with link”, and copy the google doc link into the Discord chat.

Sunday Language Exchange [ON SUNDAY & AT LUCKY BAR - PLEASE READ 🙏]
Let us meet up for a language exchange. We will give out name tags. You write your name and what language you speak and what language you would like to exchange.
***GRAB A DRINK AND YOU ARE ALL SET TO FLEX YOUR LANGUAGE CAPACITY. YOU NEED TO GET AT LEAST A DRINK OR FOOD :) To get the event going and show support. We know that you like our events. P.S. : We have non-alcoholic drinks as well.***
We have a tiny venue and we hit capacity often and early arrival is suggested.
We have the discretion to decide entry.
All languages are welcome! However we don't guarantee the availability of a partner in that particular language, you would like to exchange.

The Alliance is part of the Greater Central Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We are an all-voices chorus dedicated to providing an inclusive environment for all those who love to sing, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation or musical background. The Alliance is the first and only all-voices barbershop chorus in Central Ohio.
**Who:** Anyone with a passion for singing at a high level. Previous barbershop chorus/quartet experience not required.
**When:** The Alliance rehearses weekly on Thursdays from 7pm-10pm.
**Where:** Lord Of Life Lutheran Church: 2480 W Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43235
To become a full member of The Alliance, we welcome you to start by visiting us for a few rehearsals to experience the group and sing with us! Then, you may begin the 2-part audition process for membership: the assessement, and audition. We strive to make our auditions as stress-free as possible to help you let your best singing self shine.

CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. The dance class is for BEGINNERS, so therefore no dance experience is required or expected!
If you do have experience dancing bachata, then we won’t hold that against you, either! 😂
We will be rotating partners CONTINUOUSLY, so you will have the opportunity to meet and converse with everyone!
