Mission Briefing: Way Back Home | The Weekend Sprint
The Situation
Your identity is confirmed, but you are still stranded. The planetary surface is vast, your ship’s systems are fractured, and an incoming solar storm is narrowing your window for rescue. It’s time to stop being a survivor and start being an Architect of Autonomy.
The Mission
In this high-intensity, 4-hour workshop, we are moving beyond simple prompts. You will build a sophisticated network of Autonomous AI Agents to analyze your crash site, coordinate with other survivors, and ultimately launch a coordinated drone escape.
The Objective: 5 Levels, 1 Goal
We will be sprinting through the core of the Way Back Home curriculum:
Level 1 (Location): Build a multi-agent system using MCP servers to pinpoint your coordinates on the 3D globe.
Level 2 (SOS): Implement Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication to process incoming signals from other survivors.
Level 3 (Rescue): Master Agent Orchestration to manage complex, multi-step rescue workflows.
Level 4 (Repair): Use Multimodal Streaming (Video/Audio) to identify ship parts and retrieve technical schematics in real-time.
Level 5 (Escape): Deploy a Drone Formation Controller using event-driven logic to lead your fleet home.
The Tech Stack
You’ll be getting hands-on experience with the same tools used by top-tier AI engineers:
AI Models: Gemini 2.5 Flash & Veo 3.1
Frameworks: Google ADK & Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Run, Firestore, & Vertex AI
Real-time Systems: Redis & Kafka event streams
Prerequisites
Please bring a laptop.
Completion of Level 0: Your environment must be verified and your avatar must be live on the map.
High Energy: This is a 4-hour sprint. We provide the mission; you provide the code.
Python: A working knowledge of Python is easier for the agent logic.
🏆 The Outcome
By the end of this session, you won’t just be using AI—you’ll be orchestrating it. You will leave with a deep understanding of how to build autonomous systems that can see, hear, and collaborate to solve real-world (and out-of-this-world) problems.
The rescue window is opening. Will you be ready to lead the way back home?

Mission Briefing: Way Back Home – Identity Check
The Situation
You are a space explorer who has just crash-landed on an uncharted planet. Your ship is in pieces, and your rescue beacon is offline. To coordinate a rescue and find your way back home, you first need to establish your Explorer Identity.
The Mission
This is the official "pre-flight" check for the GDGYYC - Build with AI series. Before we dive into the deep end of multi-agent systems and drone swarms during our weekend workshop, we need to make sure every explorer is equipped and ready for deployment.
In this 90-minute session, we are completing Pre Flight Checklist: Identity.
What You’ll Accomplish
Establish Your Uplink: We will walk through the environment setup to ensure your local machine is fully synced with Google Cloud.
Deploy Gemini: You will use Gemini (Nano Banana) and multi-turn image generation to create your unique explorer avatar.
Light Up the Map: Once your identity is verified, your explorer will officially appear on our live 3D planetary map alongside your fellow survivors.
Requirements
To ensure you can successfully generate your identity, please bring a laptop.
Why Attend This First?
This first Level is our critical path. Completing this event ensures that your technical environment is flawless so that when we hit the 4-hour Weekend Sprint, we can focus entirely on building autonomous agents, MCP servers, and drone formations—without being slowed down by setup bugs.
Don't get left in the wreckage. Secure your identity and prepare for the mission.
