Starting as huge computer rooms in 1940’s, data centers have gradually become the backbone of the development of technology. With the current explosion of data and the pressing need for more and more computing power to unlock the potential of machine learning and AI in general, the innovation in the data center technology has to keep up the pace. Together, we will have a closer look at some of the most exciting projects Microsoft is working on in the data center innovation space like underwater data centers and optical data storage.
