Originally called "30s women looking for non-mommy friends", I started this group in July 2016 to meet other childfree women. I changed the name to "No kidding childfree ladies" in July of 2019, the year I turned 40, because I wanted this group to grow with me and to reflect a more diverse age range and interests within our group. This group is for childfree women of ALL AGES.
We are a diverse group of fabulous, childfree women in Metro Vancouver with a desire to build community with women who have chosen this path in life. We organize a wide variety of activities such as nature walks, brunches, trivia nights, festivals, dinners, movies, live music, lounges/cocktails and dancing, etc.
This group is primarily for CHILDFREE women (women who have chosen NOT to have kids).  This group might be for you if you are childless due to timing (women who may want children but the "timing" is not right: career, single, haven't met the right partner, finances, etc.). This group is probably not for you if you are childless due to biological or medical difficulties (i.e. you want kids but can't due to infertility, illness, etc)/ This group is not for you if you are an empty nester. Language matters and it is important to understand these differences!
WHAT WE ARE NOT ...
• "anti-spawn" or anti-children: in fact, many of us love and work with children or have a fulfilling life surrounded by nieces, nephews, godchildren, etc.
• "anti-breeders" or anti-mommies: we just want a dynamic and carefree social life sans kids and kid-related conversations.
• a support group for childless women: if you are childless due to reproductive challenges, you are welcome to join, but please be aware that the majority of members in this group are CHILDFREE BY CHOICE .

HOW TO JOIN:
- Submit a member request.
- Pay the $5.00 member due through PAYPAL (Username: NokiddingTony). I pay $300.00 USD to run this group. Your member due helps me offset this personal cost. Please choose "send to a friend" option. Please ensure your PayPal name matches your Meet Up username.  Sorry, e-transfer and cash are not accepted.
- After I receive your member due through PayPal, I approve your member request and you can start RSVPing for events.
- A clear profile pic of your face is required for safety/security reasons and so we can recognize each other. Refusal to have a clear profile pic of yourself will result in being removed from the group.
- If after 1 week of submitting your member request and you still have not paid your member due, your request will be rejected.
MEMBER DUES + ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP:
I pay a $300.00 USD Meet Up subscription each year to run this group. To help me offset this cost and the energy required to run this group, a very affordable $5.00 member due is required as of January 1, 2025.
- If you are inactive (have not attended an event) within the 3 years, you will be removed from the group. You can submit a new member request and you will have to pay a new $5.00 member due.
- To maintain membership status and have access to our events after the 3 years, we ask for an annual $1.00 contribution to help offset the cost I pay to run this group. This can be paid through PAYPAL (Username: NokiddingTony).
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS:
Catty, disrespectful, mean girl behavior will not be tolerated and you will be removed from the group should complaints arise. We do not use this group for marketing schemes, business networking, religious recruitment/promotion, etc. There are other groups you can join to do that sort of thing. You also cannot use our discussion board to promote your own Meet Up or Facebook groups. This is in poor taste and disrespectful of the energy our organizers put into hosting our events and the annual fees I pay to run this group.
RSVP and WAITLIST:
Things happen, plans change. We get it. AND our organizers give their time and energy to organize events. Please respect this!
- Please only RSVP if you genuinely intend on attending. This helps the flow of the waitlist and minimizes the chances of events being cancelled last minute due to low attendance.
- Use YOUR calendar to keep track of events you RSVP for. We are not your personal assistants.
- If you join a waitlist, you will automatically be bumped on to the RSVP list when someone else cancels. Please turn your notifications ON for our group if you are using the waitlists. You are ultimately responsible for keeping track of your waitlist status. We are not your personal assistants.
- Notify event organizer ASAP if you will be late and your ETA.
CANCELLATIONS:
• We require at least 24 hours cancellation notice so that your place can be offered to another member, especially if there is a wait list.
• If you habitually cancel with less than 24 hours notice, your profile will receive a warning and a note on your profile 📝. If the behavior continues, you will be removed from the group.
NO-SHOWS:
Things happen, we get it. However, we have a 3 strikes and you're out policy. No shows will be noted on your profile and you will be warned. 📝
HOW TO BECOME AN EVENT ORGANIZER:
We are always looking for Event Organizers from all areas of Metro Vancouver. If you would like to become an Event Organizer, you must attend one of our events first so we can get to know you and have one of our EOs vouche for you.
ONE LAST THING...
Our rules might sound strict, but after running this group for 8 years, I have learned a few things about flaky and inconsiderate behavior and how it can ruin the vibe and flow of a group. Many of our members have made lasting sisterhood friendships from this group and we hope you enjoy your experience with our Meetup group!
