This is not your typical walking/Hiking group — and that’s very much on purpose. This group is for people who love being outside, who enjoy walking in all seasons, and who understand that weather isn’t something we wait out — it’s something we walk with. Rain, snow, wind, heat, grey skies, sunshine… this is Toronto, and this is the experience. We are weather warriors 🌬️☔❄️🌞 — we show up prepared, adaptable, and ready to move.
Toronto is one of the greenest cities in the world, filled with ravines, neighbourhood routes, parks, trails, and hidden gems. This group will explore 50+ walking and hiking routes across the city, always transit-accessible, always grounded in connection, movement, and shared experience.
Our walks are on the leisure side — not too slow, not too fast — designed for people who want to move their bodies and talk while doing it. This is a social walking group. By the end of a walk, the hope is that you’ve met someone new, shared a conversation, or simply enjoyed being part of a group moving together.
Here’s what makes us different 👇
We don’t cancel walks just because of the weather. Other groups do — we don’t. Walks go ahead rain or shine. Sometimes routes may be adjusted, shortened, or adapted based on conditions, but the expectation is simple: when you sign up, we’re going.
That means this group is best suited for people who:

🧥 Know what conditions they’re comfortable walking in
☂️ Dress for the forecast (boots, umbrellas, layers — all welcome)
🧠 Take ownership of their decision to attend
🤝 Understand that an RSVP is a commitment to the group
You are always welcome to:
– Join the group and attend only the walks that suit you
– Decide on the day and show up without RSVPing
– RSVP later once you’re confident the weather meets your needs
What doesn’t work here is signing up in advance and cancelling last-minute because the weather wasn’t what you expected. When people RSVP, others plan around that — routes, pacing, safety, and the shared sense of “we’re doing this together.” That follow-through matters in this group.
Extreme or unsafe conditions (severe cold, extreme heat, dangerous wind) will always be an organizer call. This isn’t about being reckless — it’s about being prepared, realistic, and grounded.
Above all, this is a friendly, respectful, easy-going community. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is treated with care. We also respect boundaries: no unsolicited messages, no pressure, no assumptions. Connection happens naturally, on the walk.

### A 90-Minute Halloween Ghost Walk Through Toronto's Haunted History

ooking for something a little different this Halloween season?Join us for a guided ghost walk through the University of Toronto campus and its eerie surroundings, exploring some of the stories, legends, and strange histories hidden in one of Toronto's oldest neighbourhoods.
This isn't one of our regular walks where we're simply following a trail and enjoying the scenery.This is a curated storytelling experience.
I've researched the locations, developed the route, and put together the stories specifically for this experience. We'll explore some of the darker corners of the university and surrounding neighbourhoods while uncovering the people, places, and legends that have given them their haunted reputations.
🕯️ Along the way, we'll hear stories about:
- What the Christies — yes, Mr. Christie Cookies — were hiding in their mansion 🍪
- The restless little girl who is never happy 👧
- What might really be lurking inside Queen's Park 👀
- Haunted stories connected to University of Toronto buildings
- The Royal Conservatory of Music
- The Royal Ontario Museum
- And some other stories that are better experienced after dark... 👻

## 👻 What We'll Do
We'll spend approximately 90 minutes walking through the University of Toronto campus and surrounding streets, stopping at locations connected to Toronto's haunted history.
Along the way we'll:
- Hear stories about some of Toronto's most intriguing characters and locations
- Explore the darker history of the University of Toronto
- Visit locations associated with ghost stories and local legends
- Learn the history behind some of the buildings around us
- Walk through Queen's Park and the surrounding area
- Finish at the Royal Ontario Museum
We'll remain outside the buildings throughout the experience.
The walking pace will be moderate, with plenty of stops along the way for stories.***
## 🕯️ This Is More Than a Walk
Our regular walks are about getting outside, exploring Toronto, and meeting people.
This one is different.This is a guided storytelling experience.
The route and stories have been researched and developed specifically for this event, so you're not just following me from one location to another — you're getting a story about the city as we go.
And because it's Halloween season, we'll be doing it after dark. 🎃***
## 🍂 What to Expect
This is an outdoor walking experience, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
We'll be walking for approximately 90 minutes, with regular stops for storytelling.There is no entry into any buildings, so you won't need to worry about museum admission or other entrance fees.
And while some of the stories are genuinely creepy, this isn't designed to be a horror attraction.It's Toronto history, local legends, and storytelling with a spooky twist.

We'll finish at the Royal Ontario Museum.
For anyone who wants to keep the evening going, we'll walk about 10 minutes over to the Duke of York for food, drinks, and conversation.
You don't have to come — but everyone is welcome.
Because sometimes the best part of a ghost story is having someone to talk about it with afterward. 👻***

### An Easy Fall Walk — With a Pretty Amazing Natural Show Along the Way
Every fall, something incredible happens right here in Toronto.
Salmon make their way upstream through the Humber River, battling rapids and leaping through the water as they return to freshwater to spawn.
And yes — you can actually see them doing it.Join us for a relaxed, social walk along the Humber River during salmon run season. We'll spend about 30 minutes by the river watching for salmon before continuing along the trail toward James Gardens.
This isn't a difficult hike. It's a chance to get outside, enjoy the fall scenery, see something you might not normally experience in the city, and spend some time with other people along the way.✨ Fun Fact: Some salmon travel more than 3,000 km from the Atlantic Ocean to reach freshwater rivers like the Humber. After all that distance, they still have to battle rapids and leap over obstacles to reach their spawning grounds.

## 🚶♂️ What We'll Do
We'll begin outside the station and make our way toward the Humber River.
Along the way we'll:- Walk along the Humber River
- Stop for approximately 30 minutes to look for salmon
- Watch the salmon making their way upstream
- Continue along the river toward James Gardens
- Take a break at James Gardens
- Enjoy the fall scenery and take some photos
- Make our way back toward the station
The walk is approximately 90 minutes, depending on the pace of the group and how long we spend watching the salmon.
And remember — the salmon are wild animals. We can't guarantee exactly how many we'll see, or how long they'll put on a show. That's part of the fun!***
## 🍂 Why Come?
The salmon run is one of those strange little Toronto experiences that you can easily miss if you don't know when and where to look.
One minute you're walking through the city. The next, you're standing beside a river watching salmon fight their way upstream.
We'll also visit James Gardens, one of those beautiful green spaces that can make you forget you're still in Toronto.
Bring your camera, bring your curiosity, and come see what the Humber has to offer in the fall.***

Please dress appropriately for the conditions and wear comfortable walking shoes. The trail may be damp or muddy depending on recent weather.

### A Fall Walk Through Some of Toronto's Most Interesting Neighbourhoods
Looking for a walk that gives you a little bit of everything?
We'll start in Rosedale, make our way through Cabbagetown and Regent Park, wander through the Distillery District, stop at Biidaasige Park, and finish with a well-earned meal at Cherry Street Bar-B-Que.
Along the way, we'll see some of the city's oldest neighbourhoods, newer communities, historic architecture, green spaces, and some pretty great views.

## 🚶♂️ What We'll Do
We'll meet outside Rosedale Station and begin our walk through Rosedale Valley, following the tree-lined route toward Cabbagetown.
Along the way we'll:- Walk through Rosedale Valley 🌳
- Explore the historic streets of Cabbagetown
- Pass through Regent Park
- Wander through the Distillery District
- Stop at Biidaasige Park
- Take in the fall scenery and city views
- Finish at Cherry Street Bar-B-Que 🍖
The walk includes a long set of stairs, so while this isn't a difficult hike, you should be comfortable walking for several hours and keeping up with the group.

## 🏙️ A Little Toronto History Along the Way
This walk takes us through several very different parts of Toronto.
In Cabbagetown, we'll pass beautifully preserved Victorian homes and streets that reflect the neighbourhood's long history, including its Irish roots.We'll then make our way through Regent Park, one of Toronto's most historically significant communities, where older social housing has been joined by new housing, arts, and community spaces.
From there, we'll head into the Distillery District, with its cobblestone streets and historic red-brick buildings.We'll also stop at Biidaasige Park, whose name means “the sun is shining” in Anishinaabemowin.
It's a lot of Toronto in one walk.***
## 🍺 The Keating Channel Pub & Grill
We'll finish our walk at The Keating Channel Pub & Grill, right on the Keating Channel.
There's a bit of history behind this stop. The pub struggled during the massive Port Lands construction, when road closures and the relocation of the Cherry Street bridge made the area difficult to reach. With the Port Lands now transformed and Biidaasige Park open, people are rediscovering this part of the city — and the pub is getting a second chance.
After exploring the new park and the transformed Port Lands, we'll finish at one of the neighbourhood's old survivors: a casual waterfront pub with a patio overlooking the Keating Channel.

This is a long urban walk, not a difficult hike, but you should be comfortable being on your feet for several hours.

### Fall Colours, Spooky Stories & A Different Way to Spend Your Evening
Looking for something a little different to do after work?
Join us for an evening walk through High Park, where we'll enjoy the fall colours while stopping along the way for some of the park's stranger, spookier, and downright weird stories.
High Park has a long history of ghost stories and local legends.From stories connected to the War of 1812 — yes, that War of 1812 — to tales of mysterious deaths and people who may not have completely left the park behind, there's plenty of history to make an ordinary fall walk a little more interesting.
But don't worry.This isn't a terrifying ghost hunt. 👻
Think fall colours, creepy stories, a little history, a few laughs, and just enough spooky atmosphere to make you look over your shoulder once or twice.
It's a relaxed way to get outside after work, explore one of Toronto's most beautiful parks, and experience High Park as the daylight starts to disappear. 🍂🌙
