Most people don't listen to understand.
They listen to reply.
The REAL YOU MEETUP is a communication challenge designed to test one of the most underrated skills in life — active listening.
One participant speaks for two minutes about something real. A challenge they're facing. A decision they're struggling with. Something they're proud of. Anything meaningful.
Then another participant has one job:
Reflect back exactly what they heard.
No advice. No interpretation. No fixing. No assumptions.
Just a clear reflection of the speaker's words.
The speaker then shares what felt accurate, what was missed, and what changed in the reflection.
It's surprising how often we hear our own thoughts instead of the other person's words.
By the end of the session, you'll understand what it truly means to listen with attention, accuracy, and empathy.

## What Actually Happens

🎤 One participant speaks for 2 minutes about something real
👂 Another participant reflects back:
"What I heard was..."
❌ No advice
❌ No interpretation
❌ No assumptions
✅ Only reflection
💬 Speaker shares:

  • What landed accurately
  • What was missed
  • What changed

🔄 Participants switch roles
🧠 Group discussion:

  • What was added that wasn't there?
  • What assumptions appeared?
  • What made someone feel truly heard?
