Loop Hoops One-Wire Earrings
Details
NEW CLASS! This is an afternoon session starting at 12 noon. Laura Masterson will be teaching.
Meet the LOOP HOOP, a unique earring variation that uses a single length of 18g wire to create a seamless, findings-free ornament with the potential for endless variations!
Laura uses a mandrel, nylon-jaw pliers, a file and a hammer to twist, turn and bend a straight piece of wire stock into these clever, sturdy ear-hugging hoops. We at Nomad have never seen anything quite like it.
Students will create a single pair of Loop Hoops out of plated copper 18g wire. The front-facing hoop can be made in a variety of shapes; diamonds and circles are pictured here.
Consider the potential this sleek design offers. Creative students may use this technique as the basis for other designs: add a briolette dangle to the front hoop, wrap tiny beads around the outside circumference, use brightly colored wire for fun. This design transforms the simplest of materials into a modern classic!
No previous jewelry-making or wire-working experience is required. This class is designed for all skill levels.
