Information session on Zoom to learn about proposed 9-day self-contained bike packing tour along the Oregon Outback route in mid-June 2026. Here’s info about the route https://bikepacking.com/routes/oregon-outback/
Its 364 miles from Klamath Falls, OR to the Columbia River where it confluences with the Deschutes River. 100% ridable mostly unpaved roads, all along the eastern side of the Cascades. Planning on 9 days of riding mix of paved and unpaved roads, but 70% unpaved.
On this beautiful backcountry bike tour we’ll ride to enjoy the scenery, camping, make steady-freddy daily progress while promoting comradery at a moderate pace, putting group safety first, no injuries, and staying together for mutual aid and safety.
Participants must have prior experience in last 12 months riding unpaved roads on a multi-day self-contained loaded mountain or gravel bike with low touring gears, and prior experience with safe remote backcountry travel either multi-day backpacking, cycling, or multi-day backcountry ski touring/snow camping.
