[social] Annual Planning Social

THE EVENT: Planning social - this is the annual meeting where organizers talk about general trip planning /bike touring tips and people bring their trip ideas.
Last year Jean and Ellie gave a brief slide show and then led the trip planning brainstorm session. Probably similar format this year.
Also socializing, and potluck food and drink!

THE SPACE: We have secured the gathering space at Sports Basement Berkeley. Because the store closes at 9 p.m., we have to move up our usual meeting time to 6:30 p.m. Please go to the right when you enter the store to find us.

REFRESHMENTS / POT LUCK / DRINKS: Alcohol is no longer permitted at Sports Basement in-store events. Food is permitted and since our social meetings are usually pot-luck, everyone is encouraged to bring a healthy snack or dish. You can also obtain a variety of refreshments at the Berkeley Bowl nearby.

DISCOUNT ON GEAR: Sports Basement are offering a discount on the night of the event. Here is what they told me: "I'd be more than happy to set up a discount for the night of your event. 20% off for Basementeers/ 11% off for non members. All they'll need to do is mention your group name at the registers on the night of the event."
