Quarry Trail
Details
The Quarry Trail is an out and back, 11-mile route off of Hwy 49 just uphill from the Auburn Confluence. This is a challenging route due to distance and an elevation climb of 280ft. Beginning from the Quarry Trail parking lot, the way starts off on an open gravel road following the Middle Fork of the American River and ends in a tree shaded junction of dirt trails above Maine Bar.
This trail features a variety of trees such as Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir, a climbing area of mineral and limestone walls, a rock quarry and the foundations of an old bridge.
Parking in the Quarry Trail lot is $10.00 or a Poppy Pass. Limited free parking is allowed on the side of the road leading into the lot. Free parking is also available on Hwy 49.
We will meet in the Quarry Trail Parking Lot, just before the trailhead.
