Confluence and Clementine Trail Loop

Lets check out this ~7.5-mile loop trail near Auburn, California. This is a moderately challenging route, which takes you under Foresthill Bridge (the tallest bridge in California) and follows along the North Fork and Middle Fork of the American River. Elevation range (lowest to highest point) is 948ft. The trail is a mix of dirt paths and paved road, with great views of the Lower Clementine Lake Dam.
We will meet at the Auburn State Park Kiosk on Old Foresthill Rd. Parking areas are well marked and cost $10, or Poppy Pass. There is free parking off of Hwy 49/Old Foresthill Rd near the American River Bridge. Allow 5 mins walk to the Auburn State Park Kiosk. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. We will wait 5 mins before starting.
