Learn ManStuff 101 and then drink some beers..

Man Skill #1: There's nothing more embarrassing or mood killing than not being able to get a woman's/your girlfriend's bra off. It really kills the mood for both parties. We've all been there. Practice makes perfect. Come practice unclasping bras with one hand. There may or may not be relay races and some hilarious competitions planned.

Man Skill #2: Knowing how to build a fire in your sheltered fire place is one thing, doing it in real life is ENTIRELY different. -Learn how to create kindling with a piece of fire wood and a knife. You will then learn how to build a blazing fire after collecting the right materials.

Man Skill #3: You will never be able to tie the knot with a woman, if you can't tie properly down a couch to the car roof. You can use these knots for all sorts of stuff, including tying your lady to the bed posts. After you impress her with your new man skills, she might insist that you do!

- Learn a Bowline Knot, Figure 8, Square Knot and Kinky Bedroom Knot

After we are done, we'll drink some beers and talk about how awesome we are. Reserve your spot now or be left in the cold with the growing herd of unprepared men. Bruce

I thought the inaugural meeting was awesome. The content was all cool to learn, and I don't think there was anyone there who didn't learn *something* new (though a little bummed I was across the room for the rope-handcuff demo haha, gonna have to look that one up on my own). Ultimately, though, if the first meeting was any indication, I think in the long run it's the members and eventual camaraderie that's going to make this group great. To my eye, nobody showed up trying to blow everyone else out, or show-off, or whatever - we were all just a bunch of good guys genuinely interested in becoming better men. That more than anything else makes me excited for the next meeting.

    What a great meetup!
The organization and explanation were awesome, big knifes, woods, ropes etc... I learned enough to go into the wild start a fire and set up a camp in just few hours.
The group and organizers are awesome, its always good to have fun and learn in the same time!
Thanks you all guys and see your next event.

All around great stuff. No bluster or bravado - what a breath of fresh air.
The 1-on-1 skill instruction with the supplementary videos is a great combo. Practice makes perfect, so it was good to get some guided repetitions in before going solo.
Absolutely awesome hanging with a group of dudes with the mutual interests of self-improvement and man-skill development (gotta nurture that masculine core). I'm pumped for the next one.

For some reason, when I click the link for the location, my maps indicate ft mason is on treasure island. That seemed strange.

I am Google searching as well and find the linked location across the street from San Francisco State University. However Mr. Anderson said "Fort Mason is a no go", so we will have to wait for an actual location.

I live in the Castro Valley area and might be going; depending on the my schedule for that week and carpooling sounds good.

Any Vikings from the east (Eastbay guys) heading over? I am out here in the burbs of Pleasanton and would be down for a carpool.

Well, this is certainly a much-needed group. Today's modern guys need to get back to being real men (as opposed to just mush-brain males sitting at a computer staring at a screen watching we all know what) and get away from the bleeping computer.

Once off the Svengali effect of the monitor, they can walk the earth learning chivalry, gentlemanliness, kindness, consideration, integrity, truthfulness, cleanliness, good grooming (not talking about "metrosexuals" here, simply the basic showering, shaving, brushing one's hair and teeth, and wearing clean clothes that haven't been pulled out of a dirty clothes hamper), and last, but the most important: having good morals and being monogamous.

Perhaps this little Meetup group could teach that as well. Learning how to fix things does not necessarily a man make - you need the rest of the recipe. You can't be a REAL man without those characteristics.

Real men are to be appreciated; bad behavior calls for shunning!

Hi Lisa, That is 100% what we are about. Thank you for taking the time to post this. Aggression, misogamy, violence and negative behaviors in general come from doubts in one’s abilities and insecurities (especially in men). The nicest and calmest guys I know, are professional fighters/gun experts and men who are supremely confident in their masculinity. There is a psychological/therapeutic side to what we do as well which will make men better husbands, fathers, boyfriends, brothers, friends and lovers. Thank you for your post Lisa.
