An unambiguous problem statement and value proposition?

Details

In past Meetups we would sit around trying to think of things to make. We were no different from anybody else in that we ultimately made some kind of cheap plastic crap that did not solve any real problems and maybe fulfilled some dubious need. However, we did realize that because of the cell phones, PC, and automobiles, sensors have become so cheap. They have become commodities. We wanted to solve a real problem, so let's look at Aging In Place Technologies. It is not often when one has such an unambiguous problem statement and such a compelling value proposition. Looking at the graph above you can see my depiction of our, yours and mine, decline with age. The green line represents what could be possible with the application of technology. In this chart I show a maximum distance on the x-axis between the two lines of 20 years. Can 80 become the new 60?
Now, with the commoditization of sensors technologies, we have the seed corn for our Aging in Place Technology. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention, (CDC) has a very crisp and clean definition of Aging In Place. Aging in place is "The ability to live in one's own home and community safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age, income, or ability level."
