About us
Welcome to the North Georgia Motorcycle Club!
We are experienced riders who enjoy riding long days at a spirited pace on twisty mountain roads.
Can Anyone Join a Ride?
Yes! We ride on the 3rd Sunday of each month, generally 200-300 miles, anyone is welcome. Everyone is invited to our monthly meeting on the 1st Thursday of each month. Meetings and rides are posted here on Meetup. Come check us out.
Is NGAMC for you?
If you like long rides in the mountains of North Georgia, Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, at a spirited pace, on challenging roads and you are comfortable riding 200 to 300 miles in a day, then you should check out this club.
If you prefer shorter rides for a couple hours or are uncomfortable riding curvy mountain roads at a spirited pace, then this is not right club for you.
In 2019, we are initiated an annual $10 dues for membership after a 60-day free trial. This is to help cover the cost of the Meetup.com site and encourage members to participate. Come on out and meet up with us. You can pay your membership dues by PayPal using email: ngmotorcycleclub@gmail.com

History and Club Org:
This riding club has been around since 1999 originating as the Honda Shadow Club and then renamed to encompass all interested riders and the area in which we ride.
The North Georgia Motorcycle Club is organized as an Unincorporated Volunteer Organization (two or more people joining together for a common purpose).
We have a bank account for nominal expenses such as this Meetup site but are not a "nonprofit" like a 501(c)3. We keep our expenses low so our members have more money for gas, tires, and oil....
On August 9, 2023 the following five (5) new rules have now added for our group to ensure the safety of the riders:
1. Keep a safe distance from each rider by riding stagger and single-line in curves.
2. Allow each rider at stop signs, or a traffic signal, an adequate amount of time to proceed safely.
3. The larger the number of riders in a group ride will determine how fast or slow the ride will be.
4. For safety purposes, riders are not allowed to ride aggressively to the front of the group until the next stop and then proceed safely to the front.
5. Once the group has stopped and waited for slower riders to catch up, the group will safety proceed one person at a time.

BDR 1 Utah and Colorado June 18-28
Location not specified yetThis ride will focus on Section 1 & 2 of the Utah and Colorado BDR (BackCountry Discovery Route). BDR is mostly gravel roads with some rocky and sandy sections covering mountainous terrain so lot's of climbing and switchbacks as well. The payoff is being able to ride into the stunning scenery that is normally only viewed from a distance. Short Summary: Ride out to Mexican Hat UT. Then UT BDR for 2-3 days. After UT BDR we turn south to 4 corners and ride CO BDR for 2 days and head back home from CO. Probably around 4,000 miles of riding with 400-600 BDR stuff. Links to the BDR route maps below

This ride will require you to be comfortable riding off road for 100-150 miles stretches. I would recommend armored jacket and pants, ADV style riding boots and your bike will need at minimum 60/40 tires to handle the trail as well.
Ride will be limited to 6 riders due to the challenge of keeping everyone together on a trail. Sign up by no later than March 4 to reserve your spot! Jim, Marty and Michael are going as of Wednesday Feb 18.
If anyone wants to take their street bike along and rent an off road bike when we start BDR in Utah that could be an option. Or if you want to ride out on street bike and ride around the areas we are in and meet up in the evenings after we get back on the street that would work too.3 attendees
