Camping & Paddling at Ft. Parker State Park- Book Your Site NOW

Details

Ft. Parker is a beautiful, quite State Park that's only 1 1/2 hours south of Dallas. I've booked site 008 for Friday to Sunday. Most of the sites are water-front or water view with breathtaking sunsets on the other side of its 770 acre lake. It's a shallow lake that doesn't have much boat traffic. You can paddle across the lake and explore the Navasoto River. There are now kayak rentals at this park.

You can tour a historic confederate battleground and an interesting reproduction of a frontier fort. The ‘Colonials’ will be at the old Ft Parker on Saturday May 11th from 9-5:00. They will be dressed in period attire and demonstrating colonial skills like cooking in a clay oven, cooking on a campfire, blacksmithing, rope making, colonial weapons and a lot of other interesting things. They will be camping out in canvas tents with traditional colonial gear.

Kids and friendly NON-BARKING dogs are welcome. We will have a pot luck dinner Saturday night around 6:30.
