What we’re about
This group is for anyone wanting to learn more about the sport of orienteering, getting better with a map and compass, and get off trail and enjoy being in the woods. We also do sprint events (in urban settings) or park events (in local parks), and plenty of training pop-ups where we explore and teach at the same time. If you enjoy trail running or just hiking in the woods, and are up for a challenge of using a map to get there, this group is for you! Join us!

Preregistration is now open for the 2025 Python Adventure Race! Hosted by the Northeastern Ohio Orienteering Club on Saturday, September 20, 2025!
Whether you're a seasoned racer or a first-timer, this event promises epic scenery, strategic route choices, and a true test of skill and stamina with 3 and 10 hour courses.
The 3-hour course is designed to be challenging for Intermediate and even Advanced Orienteers because of its limited time frame and scope. But it still has many recreational level control locations for the Beginners to enjoy.
For the 10-hour Advanced Orienteers, prepare for an unforgettable day of navigation and endurance in the heart of Cuyahoga Valley National Park, with over 70 controls placed across more than 20 square kilometers of challenging terrain, using real, LIDAR-based orienteering maps. Enjoy an outstanding post-event dining experience and award presentation.
