Travel Overview
We will depart from Boston Logan International Airport on the evening of Thursday, June 4, 2026, arriving early morning on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island.
(International airfare is not included and typically ranges from $350–$500 roundtrip from Boston.)

São Miguel Island | June 5 – June 8
Hotel: Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico
A refined, ocean‑view hotel ideally located in the heart of Ponta Delgada
We will spend three unforgettable nights on São Miguel, the largest and most diverse island in the Azores. Each morning begins with a leisurely breakfast overlooking the Atlantic, setting the tone for days filled with discovery and ease.
Friday, June 5
After arrival and hotel check‑in, we’ll gently ease into island life with a guided stroll through Ponta Delgada, the charming capital city. Cobblestone streets, historic churches, seaside promenades, and inviting cafés create the perfect introduction to the Azores.
Dinner is included this evening, allowing us to gather, relax, and enjoy local flavors together.
Saturday, June 6
The morning is yours to explore, rest, or enjoy the waterfront. In the afternoon, we embark on a private excursion to Sete Cidades, home to one of the most iconic volcanic lake landscapes in the world.
Later, we’ll unwind with a private evening experience at a renowned hot spring garden spa, where warm mineral waters and lush surroundings provide a deeply relaxing end to the day.
Sunday, June 7
Today is a full‑day private tour showcasing the extraordinary diversity of São Miguel. Highlights include:

• The island’s historic Tea Plantation
• The National Botanical Gardens
• The geothermal wonders of Furnas

1. Scenic overlook stops at the island’s most breathtaking viewpoints

We’ll walk along the tranquil lakeside (flat and easy terrain) and witness volcanic activity up close—steam vents, bubbling pools, fumaroles, and the earth‑oven sites where Cozido is slowly cooked underground.
A traditional Cozido lunch is included, offering an authentic taste of Azorean culinary heritage.

Terceira Island | June 8 – June 12

An elegant oceanfront hotel overlooking Monte Brasil, perfect for relaxation and exploration
Monday, June 8
After a relaxed morning, we’ll take an included inter‑island flight to Terceira Island, a UNESCO World Heritage destination. We’ll settle into our seaside hotel in Angra do Heroísmo, a beautifully preserved historic town.
The remainder of the day is free to explore, enjoy the pool, or simply take in the ocean views.
Tuesday, June 9
Today features a Private chartered boat excursion featuring guided exploration of São Jorge Island, offering spectacular views of the islands from the water as well as dolphins and if we are lucky whales. As we journey toward São Jorge Island and take in views of Pico, the tallest mountain in Portugal—a truly breathtaking experience.
Wednesday, June 10
Today we enjoy a private guided island tour of Terceira, thoughtfully curated to showcase the island’s rich history, dramatic coastline, charming villages, and carefully selected panoramic viewpoints. This immersive experience offers deeper insight into Terceira’s culture, landscapes, and UNESCO‑recognized heritage—at an unhurried, relaxed pace.
Thursday, June 11
Our final full day is intentionally unstructured. It is perfect for revisiting favorite spots, discovering something new, or simply resting before the journey home.
Friday, June 12
We depart for home, carrying unforgettable memories of the Azores.
