Laser Cutter Certification

This class is for folks new to using a laser cutter. Members who successfully complete this class will be certified to use the laser at the space on their own. Non-members need to join for access to this and many other tools at the makerspace.

This Intro class will cover:

• laser safety
• how a CO2 laser works
• what can and can't be cut
• how to import a file containing both raster and vector information into the laser software
• how to determine cut and engrave settings
• basics of Retina Engrave 3.0 software
• Start up and shut down procedures

For your personal safety, please wear closed-toe shoes, tie long hair back, and avoid any dangling jewelry or baggy clothing.
