Northern KY Sierra Club blazed nature trails at the new Morning View Heritage Area nature preserve in South Kenton County 2016-21. Now we focus on keeping the trails in good shape. This spring we'll assist Kamryn Lee of Kenton County Conservation District (KCCD) with work on the Kreissl Trail. KCCD and Sierra Club will provide gloves, loppers and hacksaws. KCCD will provide trash bags for litter pickup. If anyone has trash stakes or picker-uppers, bring them!

If there's time we can also do some removal of invasive plant species along the trail. Expect the work to be light, casual and self-paced. We hike and talk as we work.

Wear shoes with grippy soles since the dirt trails can be wet, muddy or slippery. Bring your own liquid and snacks. Dogs are not allowed. There are no restrooms.

Children are welcome but a parent or legal guardian must accompany and sign a waiver for minors. All participants must sign to acknowledge that they read and agree to Sierra Club’s liability waiver and acknowledgement of self-risk – please read in advance:

Location: 15168 Decoursey Pike (KY-177), Morning View KY 40163. This is about 1/2 mile south on Decoursey Pike (KY-177) from the KY-14 intersection where the Morning View Post Office is. Look for the sign and gravel parking lot with 2 entrances on the WEST side of the road, opposite side of road from the railroad track.
