Join us at our April meeting for a presentation on natural burials! Our presenter will be Patrick Sanders, the Sanctuary Steward from Heritage Acres Memorial Sanctuary. Heritage Acres is Cincinnati’s first and only dedicated natural burial ground. A natural burial is one without chemical embalming or a casket, and it promises minimal environmental impact. By centering environmental stewardship in our end-of-life choices, we can leave a legacy for future generations by protecting land from development, preserving habitats and ecosystems, and allowing our bodies to return naturally to the earth.

Heritage Acres is also a Level I Accredited Arboretum and is home to a wide variety of Flora and Fauna. The Sanctuary offers educational and recreational opportunities for the public to enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature. Patrick will provide us with a unique perspective on the conservation efforts of the natural burial movement and introduce us to a new option for a hiking locale near Northern Kentucky.

For this meeting, we reserved the Kinsella Room in the Newport Public Library starting at 6pm. Feel welcome to arrive early to meet and socialize with other members and friends! Our reservation ends at 8:30pm. It is okay to bring and eat your own food or drink, but please clean up and leave no trash. The Kinsella Room is on the library’s main level, on the left as you enter the front doors.
