May General Meeting: Tour of SD1's Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
Details
Northern KY Sierra Club's May meeting will feature a tour of the Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, led by SD1 staff. The purpose of the tour is to see and learn how wastewater gets treated before it re-enters local rivers. Because most of the tour takes place outside, wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.
If the tour gets cancelled due to bad weather, RSVPs will be notified.
All tour attendees including guests will be required to sign SD1's waiver of liability and release form in advance. The waiver form will be shared only with RSVPs. Print the form then fill it out. Bring it and hand it to the SD1 tour guide before the tour.
Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is at 2999 Amsterdam Rd, Villa Hills KY 41017. Enter through the gate and go up the hill. Pull around to the top parking area by the flag poles. If the top parking area is full, continue down the slight hill which wraps around to a lower parking area. If you park in the lower parking area, you must walk back up to the top parking area to access the walkway to the front door.
Upon entering the front door, sign in for the tour and an SD1 representative will direct you to the appropriate room. Please note some parts of this tour may not be handicap accessible.
