June General Meeting: Town Hall with Kentucky Chapter's Conservation Committee
Details
The Sierra Club is one of the oldest environmental conservation organizations in the United States. Since 1892, it has advocated for the conservation of our public lands, clean water, clean air, and protection of other living creatures with whom we share this beautiful land.
Our Town Halls provide an opportunity to get to know Sierra Club leaders who execute our conservation work and to hear from local members, partners, and citizens about their conservation concerns. Sierra Club Town Halls are for public engagement, not where you come to hear talking heads. We facilitate conversations from the local perspective where we get to know each other and, more importantly, learn from each other. Participants can ask questions, share wishes, as well as concerns, and discover pathways to achieve objectives. Through this creative process, ideas, opportunities and strategies emerge, often in surprising ways. Most importantly, we share our collective hopes and dreams for the future and find common purpose and vision.
Come prepared to share your conservation ideas and concerns during our June 22 Town Hall at the Independence “Durr" Branch of the Kenton County Library at 1992 Walton-Nicholson Rd, Independence, KY 41051. The library is just west of the intersection of KY-16 (Walton-Nicholson Rd) with KY-17 (Madison Pike) in the unincorporated town of Nicholson. There is plenty of free parking behind the library. We reserved the library’s meeting room from 6:00 to 8:30 PM so feel free to arrive early or stay late.
