Hike To Snyder Lake In Glacier NP

Details
Let's meet on the east side of the C. Falls Super 1 under the pine trees at 8:30 am. The hike starts on the Sperry trail, so we will be parking by Lake McDonald Lodge. I am a volunteer in the park, so I do not need a vehicle reservation. I have room for one more in my carload. After the first person to sign up, any others will need to form a group and get a Vehicle Reservation for the 7 am to 9 am time slot and let me know you will meet me at the trailhead. You need to log on to recreation.gov prior to 7 pm the night before to secure a reservation when they are released at 7 pm for the following day. It is important that you LET ME KNOW if you will be joining us at the trailhead!!!
The hike is 8.7 miles round trip. Jake Bramante states, "Snyder Lakes are a pair of alpine lakes that sit above Lake McDonald Lodge, although the trail only goes to the lower of the two. It passes through the inland Pacific rain forest full of moss and ferns, gaining well over 2,000 feet without many level spots. The steepest slope is found in the first mile and a half of your journey. The hike is not especially beautiful until you get into the basin, where avalanche chutes and alpine vegetation allow you to see the cliffs that surround you, which are impressive".
Please bring bear spray, bug spray, sunscreen, water and lunch. I hope you can join me!
