Paddle to Wild Horse Island on Flathead Lake
Details
Join the Northern Rockies Explorers as we kayak and paddleboard to a unique gem on Flathead Lake - Wild Horse Island, where wild horses still roam freely along with bighorn sheep, deer and many other smaller creatures.
This is about a 3 mile trip one way, which isn't too long however we'll skip the hiking trails on the island in favor of returning with plenty of sunshine and warmth and before the late afternoon lake winds pick up.
We'll meet at Rosauers Supermarket on the south side of Kalispell for the trip down Hwy 93 to the Dayton Yacht Harbor. We can carpool from there based on availability
Wednesday is supposed to be warm and most importantly calm. Bring your boat (kayak or paddle board), PFD, paddle, booties, raincoat, snacks, water and other and beverages of choice. Bring some dry socks and shoes, etc. for when we're done paddling.
See you Wednesday morning!
