Late notice but I think the opportunity to take in the beautiful fall colors is worth it. Opportunities are dwindling. Imagine the event picture with tons of golden needles. Don't let the extremely high chance of rain in the forecast scare you, it isn't supposed to appear until early evening.

The trail runs along the south boundary of Glacier National Park and follows the Middle Fork Flathead River through the canyon. It’s a beautiful stretch of the river and the trail spends a lot of time next to and above it, with lots of smaller ups and downs.

Length: 10.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,200 feet
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Bring your bearspray.

10 miles is an estimate as we can turn around whenever we feel like and we may not feel the need to hike the full length. We'll drive into West Glacier and park at the old Belton Bridge.

Bring extra layers, food/snacks, water/electrolytes, rain gear, and trekking poles if you like using them. Anything else you think you might need.

We'll meet at the park and ride at the corner of Hwy 206 and Hwy 2 at 9:30AM and arrange a carpool. See you there!
