Join the Northern Rockies Explorers as we hit the trail(s) along the Inside North Fork Road and feel the history of the area come alive. Just driving on this road is a pretty cool experience. We'll park on the side of the road and first head to Howe Lake, with modest hills, views of the fall colors and some sunshine on our shoulders.

We'll return the way we came and then head to the cabin built in 1908 by a Czech immigrant named Rudolph Matejka who was evidently searching for a LOT of peace and quiet for him and his family. It's one of the oldest structures inside the park. There is a beautiful stream setting behind the cabin.

Length: 6.0 miles

We'll meet at the park and ride at the corner of Hwy 206 and Hwy 2 at 9:30AM and arrange a carpool. See you there!
