Scenic Christmas-time Stroll through Glacier Park
Details
Join the Northern Rockies Explorers for a trekking adventure centered around the Upper McDonald Creek Trail area. Let's hope the weather cooperates and we'll have some actual snow - either falling or on the ground, on the tree branches, etc.
I want to follow a route that will keep us off of the GTTS road and explore along the edges of Lake McDonald and through the forest until we break out into views of the breathtaking snow-capped peaks (check out the event photo). This event is perfect for all skill levels.
You will have the opportunity to connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and challenge yourself in a fun and supportive environment with the Northern Rockies Explorers.
6 miles, minimal elevation gain. We'll take a nice break at the horse bridge over McDonald Creek. Bring some guests.
Bring a snack/lunch, some water, your waterproof or water-resistant outdoor gear, yaktrax, snow cleats, micro spikes, etc. (whatever you have) and bear spray. We'll meet at the Park and Ride at the corner of Hwy 2 and Hwy 206 in Columbia Falls at 9:30 a.m. and arrange a carpool. See you there!
