NYD hike on the South WT Loop at Spencer Mountain

Have you ever stood on Signature Rock outside of Whitefish? I know it's late notice but you can join the Northern Rockies Explorers for a New Year's Day trekking adventure on Spencer Mountain. We'll do the South Loop of the Whitefish Trail system for about 5 miles or maybe a little longer if we feel like it. My map shows 3 different overlook spots so we'll be able to take in some nice views close to home.

You be able to breathe in the fresh mountain air and connect with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

4.8 miles, estimated 800 feet of elevation gain.

Definitely bring and plan to wear your yaktrax, snow cleats, micro spikes, etc. Also bring snacks, water, and your waterproof or water-resistant outdoor jacket. Whatever else you might want.

We'll plan to meet in the South Spencer TH parking lot at 9:30, but pay attention to the comments section as I'm willing to arrange some carpool activity depending on how many folks sign up. See you soon!
