This event will now happen Tuesday May 19th: Join the Northern Rockies Explorers as we hike to the Buffalo Lakes and beyond. Throughout the day we'll have alternating panoramic vistas into Glacier Park, Blackfeet Nation and the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Along the way, there will be some bushwhacking, route finding, creek crossings, new wildflowers emerging, ducks and other creatures, snow capped peaks, and the usual ups and downs.

We'll break off of the main trail after less than a mile and make a short and strenuous climb up to the Lubec Ridge. After this climb, the terrain will moderate for the remainder of the day.

Trail Length: 6-7 miles approx
Elevation Gain: 1,500 feet approx

Bring plenty of water, food, rain gear, multiple layers, etc. Bring trekking poles if you like to use them.

We'll meet at the usual park-and-ride lot (see map) and carpool from there. The TH is off of Highway 2, after Marias Pass and before the Blackfeet Reservation. It's going to be a great day!
