Northern Rockies Explorers

Route TBD, I wanted to get this on the calendar. Can you trust me to come up with a decent route?

E-bikers will be heartily greeted and warmly welcomed.

Think about a roughly 25 mile route, 50/50 pavement/gravel, gravel bike or similar recommended. Details to follow this evening Tuesday 7/22.

Bring some layers, your helmet, water, and snacks. Wear a bright colored top. We'll ride at an intermediate pace, no lolly-gagging but not pushing it too hard. 12-13 mph average? We'll take a couple of shorter breaks along the way.

We'll meet in at the armory parking lot in Whitefish.

Sorry I had to change the date for this hike. I forgot that I had an appointment on Wednesday.
Let's meet on the east side of the C. Falls Super 1 under the pine trees at 9:00 am. We will then carpool to the trailhead on Highway 2, not far from Marias Pass. The hike is 10.2 miles round trip, with an elevation gain of just under 2,000 feet.
Here is a partial description. "Roughly 4 miles from the trailhead hikers will reach the large basin below Firebrand Pass. From here you'll enjoy your first views of your destination: the saddle between Calf Robe and 7891-foot Red Crow Mountain. At 5.1 miles hikers will finally arrive at the top of the pass. The views on both sides are simply outstanding. On the west side of the pass you'll enjoy commanding views of 7347-foot Skeleton Mountain and the Ole Creek drainage area.
Bring bear spray, bug spray, sunscreen, water, layers and lunch. I hope you can join me!
