Northern Virginia Water Sports members are a diverse group of laid back individuals who just want to get on, in, or be near the water, relax, and enjoy a few hours of sunshine. The membership comprises of paddlers, boaters, skiers, SCUBA divers, and those who participate in other types of water sport activities.
While the main theme of the group has focused on kayaking, a wildly popular activity in this area, we want to expand our horizons with new activities such as beach volleyball and tubing. The aim is to continually increase membership participation by spreading around the activities.
Whether you have joined us in the past or have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for an interesting activity come on out and at least say hi. We promise not to feed you to the fish!
The List is out!
Based on our last meeting at Mick's, a lot of you came up with some great ideas! This is what we were hoping to accomplish to make 2012 a much better year! If this list does not keep us busy, I don't know what will.
In the discussion board in this meetup, Rick brought up a kayak clinic, to help start the year off safely, at Lake Anna in April (the warm side of the Lake). I'm ready to go! Check out the discussion board for details, and other ideas to start off the year.
We'll also start getting a list of dates scheduled for some of the ideas that were listed. If there is anything to be added, suggestions/comments, let's put them on the discussion board by this weekend so we compile everything and start setting up some events in the near future . Look forward to everyone's feedback!
