Black Girl Whimsy - Northside Edition

Hey everyone!

My name is Bre'Anna (Bre) and I live in Ravenswood. For a while I have been interested in a black girl social club for folks who live on the north side and are in their late-20s to early-30s. After trying out a few and finding a lot that have fizzled out, I've decided to create my own! There's a lot of flexibility here in terms of events as I get things started, but the goal is to get ourselves out, sharing space together, and having fun! I'm specifically calling on my Northside girlies (Lincoln Square, Ravenswood, Uptown, Edgewater, Rogers Park, etc) because not only are we out here, there is so much to do in these vibrant neighborhoods, so much so that genuine connection and community is more accessible than we might think.

Please Note: This group is called "Black Girl Whimsy - Northside Edition" but this is a space designed for black queer folks as well.

Here are the kinds of social events you can expect:

• Coffee Chats (getting to know each other!)
• Creative/Craft Days (I write and crochet, but open to all kinds of crafts!) and/or taking art classes together
• Movies at the Davis or the Music Box
• Happy Hours
• Reading/Book Clubs
• Museums
• Street Festivals
• Chillin' at Montrose
• Jazz Shows
• And More!!

I am open to coordinating group excursions with folks (tell me about your favorite spot!).
