What we’re about

We are an in-person support group for people with narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia in the Seattle area. Friends, family, and significant others are welcome to join as well!

Our goal is to provide individuals affected by these conditions with  opportunities to meet each other face to face in a safe and caring space for the purposes of commiseration, resource sharing, and mutual, compassion support. Though our individual experiences may vary, our commonalities are the foundation of this group. Attending Northwest Narcolepsy Support Group events implies that you will:

1) be respectful of the experiences of others and

2) keep confidential any personal disclosures made in the sanctity of the support group.

A Note About Confidentiality: We each choose to whom, when, and how to disclose our particular conditions to others. Members of this group are expected to keep confidential not only personal disclosures made during support group meetings, but the fact that a person is a member of this group at all unless you have permission from the member/s to disclose their membership status and/or personal information.

Disclaimer:  This support group is not mediated by a healthcare professional and it may not be able to satisfy all of your particular needs. In order to make the group as meaningful as possible for as many people as possible, please help your organizers understand why you joined and what your expectations are for this support group. Your input and active participation is welcomed and encouraged. Your input is always welcome, just send us a message.

We're glad you found us. See you at a support group event soon!
