Announcing a new Meetup for Eastside Hikers Meetup Group!
What: Snoqualmie Mountain
When: Saturday, July 24,[masked]:00 AM
Eastgate Park & Ride
14244 SE Eastgate Way[masked] N[masked] W
Bellevue, WA 98007
Believe it or not, there is an unmarked trail all the way from the Alpental parking lot to the top of Snoqualmie Mountain. It is rough, steep, and wet in places, but there are some nice switchbacks here and there. Lower half is mostly in cool deep forest, upper half is an open ridge with great views. From the summit look straight down on Snoqualmie Lake 2,000' below. You can see everything from up there.
This is a strenuous hike, almost a scramble climb in places, inspite of the moderate elevation gain and low mileage. There are a couple of places where a slip would be a bad thing, but not really dangerous. You will be using your arms and hands at times and poles are strongly recommended. Good stiff boots are needed. This should not be your first hike of the season. I've done this hike probably 15 times, a favorite of mine.
Bring your Ten Essentials and extra water.
Stats: 6 miles with 3,000' elevation gain. 3 hours up, 3 hours down.
Meet 7am on the east side of the Eastgate Park & Ride on I-90 in Bellevue. We will carpool to the Alpental parking lot above Snoqualmie Pass.
