What we’re about
Come and join us at nwsail.com, Chicagoland's friendliest sailing and social club!
For a membership fee of only $60 you can participate and enjoy over 20+ scheduled sailing events throughout the season, as well as "pop-up" sailing events. We sail at weekends, weekdays and evenings, and socialize at regular meetings and at fun encounters. Our boats are located in all the main marinas in Chicagoland, so it will be easy to find a venue that suits you.
Maybe you'd like to check us out in person at our next monthly meeting? You don't have to be a member to attend. Sailors, and non-sailors alike, are ready to warmly welcome you to our very active club. The date and location are shown under the "Events" label.
If sailing was ever your dream, come and learn the "ins-and-outs" of sailing from our experienced sailors and skippers. If it was not your dream, come and be inspired to make it one! We always appreciate those who have a love of meeting new friends, being outdoors and being under sail on the water.
If you have any questions, do send an email to me: [membership@nwsail.com](mailto:membership@nwsail.com), and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. We hope to meet you soon!

Come and meet us, Chicagoland's friendliest sailing and social club, and get ready to take part in more than 22 sailing and social events in 2025!
We hold a general meeting on the 3rd Monday of each month, where we frequently host a guest speaker.
At this month's meeting on May 19 at 7.p.m, we will have a presentation by Madeline Crispell, curator of The Chicago Maritime Museum. Join us for a deep dive on the history of sailing on the Great Lakes! The Chicago Maritime Museum (CMM) serves as a window into Chicago’s maritime history, including the eras of French fur traders
and canoes, sailing and steam-powered vessels, modern commercial Great Lakes frigates, and the lives of renowned captains and sailors.Come to the meeting for a fun and informative evening! All are welcome, whatever your sailing experience – just bring your enthusiasm and you sense of fun with you!
We sail from all Chicagoland harbors on weekends, some weekdays and some evenings. With nearly 30 boats and 7 Chicagoland home ports, you are sure to find a sail time and place that will fit your schedule. We also have informal social get-togethers at a variety of venues in and around the region, so there are plenty of opportunities to meet and have fun in between sails!
