About us
A group for outdoor lovers seeking exploration and connection with like-minded people. We will mainly be hiking in and around the east midlands and peaks with other fun outdoor activities sprinkled between (these will likely be from spring onwards). Join us for hikes, kayaking, paddleboarding, biking, wild swimming, yoga, camping, weekend exploration amongst many more activities.
We understand that it can be difficult meeting people, and even harder finding people who want to explore. That's why we have created this group, to gather you up and get out there and have fun together!
We will organise socials for us to get to know each other better, both before and after hikes, and for you to gauge if you would like to join us. We know these things can be intimidating, but we are friendly and all looking for the same thing, so come on over.

Wollaton Parkrun Meet-Up & Optional Coffee After

Everyone runs at their own paceJoin us for a friendly Saturday morning meet-up at Wollaton Park to take part in the Wollaton parkrun.
This event is for anyone who would like to run the parkrun route as part of a relaxed social group. Everyone will run at their own pace, so there is no pressure to keep up with anyone else and no set group pace for this one.
Meeting point: In front of Wollaton Hall / Wollaton Castle
https://maps.app.goo.gl/NFKivp5n9PqhELpM9We will meet at 8:30am on Saturday in front of Wollaton Hall / Wollaton Castle. We will wait for a maximum of 15 minutes for any attendees not yet there who have not already messaged.
We will aim to do around 5 minutes of warm-up before the run and 5 minutes of cool-down afterwards. If you choose to finish the run earlier or leave before the group cool-down, please make sure you do your own cool-down/stretching as needed, as you are responsible for looking after yourself and reducing your own risk of injury.
Please wear suitable running shoes and clothing for the weather. As this is a running event, we advise all attendees to bring water with them.
If you already know where the parkrun starting point is and would prefer to meet us there, you can meet us at the start point at around 8:50am.
We can say hello, have a quick chat before the run starts, and then everyone can run at their own pace.
If you would like your result recorded by name in the parkrun results list, please make sure you register with parkrun beforehand and bring your barcode so it can be scanned at the end.
After the parkrun, whoever feels up for it can hang around for a coffee or drink afterwards at either Wollaton Courtyard Café & Shop, Wollaton 508 Café or anywhere else.
Please note that the parkrun itself is organised separately by parkrun. This Meetup event is simply for people from the group who would like to meet up, run it, and potentially socialise afterwards.
Etiquette — If you can no longer attend the event, please remember to cancel yours and/or your guests’ RSVP, as we may have people on the waiting list and it also means we will know not to wait around for you.
Please note that the organiser is not a qualified running coach, medical professional or first aider. This is a social meet-up rather than a coached training session.
