A short but sweet circular Autumnal walk (approx 5 miles) through beautiful Padley Gorge and onto Surprise View via Over Owler Tor. Post-walk pub to be decided closer to the time.
See https://letsgopeakdistrict.co.uk/padley-gorge-and-surprise-view-walk-4-5-miles/ for more details.

MEETING PLACE: outside Grindleford Station Cafe, Upper Padley, Grindleford, Hope Valley S32 2JA.
W3W ///bags.design.open
I'm unsure if the cafe will be open on Sunday so please bring food with you to eat along the hike.

TIME: 9.45am to leave promptly at 10.00am. If you're running late, post a message in the group so that I can be aware.

TERRAIN: Woodland paths, grassy footpaths and moorland trails. Some gradual inclines but no steep climbs.

ACCESSIBILITY: Moderate, no stiles, some uneven terrain in woodland and on moors

PARKING - there's a car park opposite the cafe itself and parking is available along the road (Midland Cottages) on your approach to the cafe. You can pay via the RingGo app and it's £4.40 for the whole day. Alternatively there's free roadside parking along the B6521 but please read signage before parking. See https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations/grindleford/ for more details. All cars parked are at owners own risk.

Please remember to bring £1 to contribute towards running costs or pay a one off membership of £10 for the year.

PLEASE NOTE: walks can be quite boggy (especially this time of year), bring suitable waterproof footwear, waterproof clothing and an adequate amount of food/snacks and water. If you're new to hiking and you're unsure what would be suitable, just ask in the group and we'll be happy to advise.

We really encourage carpooling so that we can keep car numbers down both for the environment and the carparks. It's also a great way to get to know other people.

OTHER INFORMATION: If you can no longer attend the event, please cancel your rsvp, as we often have people on the waiting list.
You are joining these walks at your own risk and are fully responsible for yourself and the choices and actions you choose to take at these events. This is a voluntary meetup.
