I have my own tradition of going for a hike on New Year's Day so I'm extending the invite out to the group if others would like to join me. I haven't done this walk yet but reviews on All Trails say it's mostly flat (one steep part in Gotham), likely very muddy in some parts and there is some roadside walking involved as well.
DISTANCE AND ESTIMATED ROUTE TIME: 11.6km, 4-4.5 hours
MEETING TIME AND PLACE: Meet by 10:15am outside The Three Horseshoes pub, East Leake, LE12 6PB
PARKING: There is a small carpark on Gotham Road (opposite the fire station) and plenty of free on-street parking around East Leake but please park considerately if you're parking in residential areas. Car sharing is encouraged.
Meetup charge organisers to run these groups, and therefore, Please bring £10 for a year's membership to the group or £1 if you attend occassionally, on the walk or pay as a friend payment via PayPal

Please note: walks can be quite boggy (especially this time of year).Plese bring suitable footwear and clothing.
We really encourage carpooling so that we can keep car numbers down both for the environment and the carparks. It's also a great way to get to know some people.
Please make sure to bring:
• Sturdy, waterproof walking boots. It can get very muddy and slippy on these walks
•Waterproof clothing, it is England after all
•Warm/cold weather layers. Prepare for all weather
•Enough water for the duration of the walk
•Lunch and snacks as needed. There won't often be places to buy things en route
Etiquette - If you can no longer attend the event, please remember to cancel yours and / or your guests rsvp as we often have people on the waiting list and it means we won't wait around for you either
Please note that the organisers may not have walked these routes before, so bear with us whilst we navigate.
